The Analytical Cell in the EUBAM Analytical and Operational Support Unit engages in joint and unilateral analytical work. This includes supporting the partners in assessing risks at the common border and providing solid MD-UA border related analysis for internal and external clients, including the EU Delegations in both Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova and for the EU special Representative to the Republic of Moldova.

The Analytical Cell and the AOSU as a whole produce a range of products, including special reports on areas of interest, flash reports, technical analysis, evaluation on procedures and other analytical products. In the area of Risk Analysis the training of the respective partner units and direct engagement in risk profiling and selectivity within partner operational activities are the main focus. Certain long lasting projects, specifically with regard to information exchange across the border e.g. the Common Border Security Assessment Report, the Pre-Arrival Information Exchange System and the Operational Information Exchange project are implemented and maintained by this cell.
