The European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine is offering a group of university students the opportunity to acquire experience working as interns during 2012.
13 positions will be opened for the following EUBAM units:
Communications Office – two (one intern starting by 1 April 2012 and one intern during the second half of 2012).
Analytical and Operational Support Unit – three interns.
Capacity Building Unit – six (four interns in the Good Governance and Anti-corruption Cell of CBU).
Strategy Planning and Performance Office – two interns.
The interns must sign an Internship Agreement upon acceptance.
- Main Location: EUBAM Headquarters in Odessa, Ukraine.
- Duration: 1 to 3 months (exceptions to be made for some positions).
- Salary: Unpaid.
Interns will be responsible for covering all costs: travel, visa, medical insurance, accommodation and meals. The intern is also responsible for finding suitable accommodation for the duration of the internship. EUBAM can provide assistance if needed in finding accommodation. EUBAM can provide a letter in support of visa procedures if needed.
- Workload: equivalent to that of a junior executive-grade officer.
- Internship Description: detailed description will be given to each intern.
- Application Deadline:
1 April 2012 for one Communications Office position and one Good Governance/Anti-Corruption Cell position (to start in April 2012);
30 April 2012 for all other positions.
Application Eligibility:
- Degree Requirement: Recently completed or pursuing a university degree.
- Language Requirement: English required.
Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Moldovan desirable.

- In the email, specify which EUBAM unit the candidate would prefer to work in and for what period of time.
- Recommendation Letters: 2 from professors teaching at the university (college) they are attending OR have just graduated from.

- Passport.
- Visa (if required).
- Medical Insurance (valid in Ukraine).
- Unofficial University (College) Transcript or another proof of university (college) attendance.
